About the project
Through a call for proposals of LAG “More 249”, HRK 214,962.50 in grants was secured for the construction of a children's playground next to the Roman cistern on the Gradina peninsula.
Under Measure 19 “Support for local development under the LEADER initiative (CLLD – community-led local development)” of the Rural Development Programme of the Republic of Croatia, LAG “More 249” awarded the Municipality of Murter-Kornati funds under the call “Investment in the start-up, improvement or expansion of local basic services for the rural population, including leisure and cultural activities and related infrastructure”.
The application for support was received by the LAG “More 249” office in 2019 and was finally approved in July 2020.
Themed historical playground
According to the approved project and its purpose, the funds are intended for a themed historical children's playground on the plateau by the Roman cistern. The playground will consist of:
- a system of play equipment,
- rubber flooring,
- a fence,
- urban furniture such as tables, benches and bins.
The works are planned to be completed by the end of 2020.
When such a playground is linked to the project Colentum Archaeological Park, which is a major undertaking for the near future, together with the new playground, will complete the interpretation of the story of the ancient town of Colentum.
