Where history rises from the sea
On the Gradina peninsula, above today's Hramina Bay, lay Colentum, one of the most important ancient towns of the Liburnian and Roman periods on the eastern Adriatic coast. Although much of the town has disappeared beneath the earth and the sea over the centuries, numerous historical records, archaeological finds and local legends still bear witness to its former importance.
A visit to Gradina today is not just a walk in nature with a view of the Kornati – it is a journey through more than two thousand years of history.
