Quintus Petronius Valens Colentinus — the mascot of Colentum and the hero of an illustrated story about the ancient town.
Who is Quintus?
Already at the first Colentum Archaeological Camp, the question arose of a mascot for the Colentum archaeological site that would represent life in ancient Colentum. After a little thought, Quintus Petronius Valens Colentinus was chosen as the mascot, a character inspired by archaeological finds from Murter and historical facts from the period the finds date from, i.e. the end of the first and beginning of the second century AD.
Quintus is a kind of personification of curiosity about the secret hidden by the beautiful hill of Gradina, on and below which lie the remains of the ancient town of Colentum.
The story of Quintus was written based on knowledge about life in the ancient town of Colentum, supported by archaeological research at the site.
