How it all began
When work began at the Colentum archaeological site in 2012, the idea was born to organise the first event connected with the site that same year. And so the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Murter-Kornati, in cooperation with the Argonauta association, the Municipality of Murter-Kornati, the Virko theatre and Diocletian's Guard from Split, organised the first Colentum Night.
Colentum Night has become one of the regular events of the “Murter Summer”, held every year at the end of August. Gladiator fights, dramatic performances, costumed crowds and torchlight are part of a successful spectacle that, for one evening, takes Murter back to the time of the mighty Roman town of Colentum.
A joint project of the whole of Murter
The main organiser of Colentum Night is the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Murter-Kornati, and the Argonauta association is in charge of coordinating the fair part of the event and creating content for children.
Other associations, restaurateurs and craftspeople from Murter also take part in the event.
