Provedena akcija čišćenja u sklopu projekta „Arheološko blago Colentum 6”

Last Saturday, as part of the project Archaeological Treasure of Colentum 6 a clean-up of land plots at the Colentum site was carried out. The main goal of the project Archaeological Treasure of Colentum 6 is to contribute to the valorisation of the cultural and natural heritage of the Colentum archaeological site by engaging and educating landowners on Gradina hill, encouraging volunteering in the local community and networking stakeholders from the private, public and non-profit sectors. The project is run by the Argonauta association in cooperation with the Municipality of Murter-Kornati, the utility company Murtela, the Šibenik City Museum and LAG 249, with financial support from the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.

The campaign brought together 20 participants: members of the Argonauta association, staff of the utility company Murtela, volunteers and owners of land plots at Colentum. The volunteer activities focused on the area of the Colentum archaeological site along the new dry-stone wall that separates the archaeological beach from the land plots. In just a few hours, a large part of the plots was cleared of vegetation and tidied up.

This volunteer campaign was extremely important so that the plot owners could gain an insight into the potential of the site and the possibilities for taking part in the development of the Colentum archaeological site, all according to architect Vinko Peračić's conceptual design for the Colentum Archaeological Park. The Argonauta association thanks all participants in the volunteer campaign for their active participation and help in valorising the Colentum archaeological site.

As part of the Archaeological Treasure of Colentum 6 project, the last two activities will soon be presented: the translation of the Colentum.info website into English and an inventory of plant species at the Colentum site. The latter is being carried out in cooperation with LAG 249 Vodice and Professor Marija Pandža.
