On Friday, 23 August 2019, the eighth “Colentum Night” was held, an event that celebrates the archaeological site of Colentum, its history and significance.
The event was organised by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Murter-Kornati in cooperation with the Argonauta association. The Argonauta association organised the fair part of the event: at Argonauta's fair, visitors could buy souvenirs inspired by the archaeological site, make their own mosaic, play a prize game, make a Roman helmet and put on a laurel wreath to feel like true Colentians.
The event was rounded off by actors of the Virko theatre with a short dramatic performance called “Odysseus on the island”, and a particular highlight was the performance by the “Fascination” quartet from Split, the “icing on the cake” of the event.
As always, it was a special pleasure to take part in “Colentum Night”, and preparations are now under way for the fifth “Dry Stone Wall Extravaganza”, another project that encourages the valorisation of the Colentum site.
