Participants of the Dry-Stone Wall Meeting gathered at a working meeting in Biograd on 30 November, organised by the Dragodid association and hosted by Vransko Lake Nature Park. The main goal of the meeting was to analyse the Dry-Stone Walling Championships held so far and to plan the implementation and organisation of future meetings.
The meeting was attended by the organisers of past meetings: Damir Banić, Danja Lakić Budimir, Ivan Bašić and Josip Ćapin from Gardun, from Vodice (Srima) and Šibenik Meri Krnić and Jadran Kale, representatives of the Dragodid association Julia Bakota Švencbir, Mislav Tovarac and Filip Šrajer, Norma Fressel from Vransko Lake Nature Park, and representatives of the Argonauta association Sanja Kovačev and Ive Šikić Bažokić.
Future championships were analysed through a questionnaire and an open discussion, in which the participants presented their views on future dry-stone wall meetings, and an outline plan for the future was adopted. For 2022, the Dry-Stone Walling Championship is planned to be held on Cres, and the exact date will be set at the beginning of the year.
We look forward to continuing our work on promoting traditional dry-stone building, both through activities aimed at continuing the Dry-Stone Wall Meetings and through local campaigns and projects aimed at this goal.
