Aktivnosti Argonaute predstavljene u sklopu PBA Burgos 2021

A representative of the Argonauta association took part in a Partnership Building Activity within the Erasmus+ programme in the Spanish town of Poza de la Sal from 9 to 15 September. The project was organised by the Spanish association Brújula Intercultural, with which our association has been cooperating on Erasmus+ projects for many years. The project, called “Burgos 2021: Our Heritage, Our Future”, aims to connect European organisations working in the field of cultural, artistic and social heritage that focus on working with young people, and to promote cooperation between them. The ultimate goal of the project is to establish joint activities of the participating organisations and educational strategies based on non-formal education tools, all in order to raise awareness of the relationship between young people and cultural heritage, and between young people and art, tradition and culture in the future.

The activity brought together 17 participants from 13 organisations based across Europe that organise and carry out activities related to the theme. Over 7 days, the organisations worked on identifying strategies that enable young people to take part in heritage projects and activities, as well as activities that help build better relations between organisations, and shared experiences in youth work and projects that contribute to the protection and valorisation of heritage. As part of the programme, the participants also visited the city of Burgos, home to a UNESCO-protected cathedral, which this year is celebrating the 800th anniversary of its construction. Among the many events held as part of the anniversary celebrations, there are very few activities for children and young people. The activities of this project and its results will aim to encourage young people's engagement in cultural heritage and present it to them as a potential for building the future.

The Argonauta association presented its example of good practice, the EVS project Dry Stone Wall Extravaganza 1–5, which in 5 editions brought together 75 volunteers from several European countries and encouraged the protection and valorisation of the Colentum archaeological site at local, national and international level. The association also presented other cultural heritage activities it actively works on and carries out in cooperation with stakeholders at different levels. Taking part in the PBA project Burgos 2021 will surely lead to new and fruitful cooperation with international organisations and contribute to the further development of the Argonauta association's projects.
