After a rainy night, a sunny and cheerful morning dawned at Colentum. Along with our EVS volunteers and Ive Šikić-Bažokić, who are working hard on building the dry-stone wall, Colentum was also visited this morning by users of the Šubićevac Education Centre.
One group of users at the “Little Archaeological Workshop”, accompanied by leaders Ivana Miškić and Vedrana Ćetković, is making a mosaic showing the logo of the Colentum archaeological site. This workshop was created in cooperation between the Šibenik City Museum, the Šubićevac Education Centre and the Argonauta association. Today the Centre's users began shaping polymer clay into small squares which, once dried, will become part of the mosaic that will decorate the premises of the Argonauta association. Besides the leaders/special education teachers, our EVS volunteers are helping the users make the mosaic.
Alongside the “Little Archaeological Workshop”, a photography workshop led by Željko Krnčević is being held as part of the project “KULTajmo u Šibeniku”. The project “KULTajmo u Šibeniku” is worth HRK 797,757.40 and is financed by the European Social Fund. The project applicant is the Šibenik City Museum in partnership with the City of Šibenik, the Association of the Blind of Šibenik-Knin County, the Mladi u EU association and Fotoklub Šibenik. The Argonauta association has joined the project as an associate, and today's workshop is one of the project's many activities, which besides the photography workshop also include a sales exhibition to be held at the Šubićevac Education Centre.
The workshops will run until Wednesday, 2 October, and will also be joined by users of the Centre for Inclusion from Split. We look forward to seeing the final results of these workshops – a cheerful mosaic and photos by the newly fledged photographers!
