„Veseli obluci” voluntarizma razveselili suhozid Colentuma

The three-day “Happy Pebbles” workshop, held as part of the 7th Colentum Archaeological Camp, came to an end yesterday. The main activity of the workshop was writing the names of all Colentum volunteers so far and all project partners, and painting the flags of the volunteers' countries on small pebbles. In this way we want to express our gratitude to all the volunteers for every hour and day of work at Colentum and show them how much their small contribution has meant for this site.

At the end of the workshop, representatives of the Šibenik City Museum, staff and pupils of the Šubićevac Education Centre, and staff and volunteers of the Argonauta association walked to the Colentum archaeological site and placed the first inscribed pebbles on the dry-stone wall by the archaeological beach. Every little pebble hides a big story: a story of volunteering, of an idea, of partnership, cooperation and friendship. All the stories share one goal – contributing to the development of the Colentum site.

A new story of volunteering is being created right now as part of the “Dry Stone Wall Extravaganza 4” project and the European Voluntary Service, and 15 new pebbles with the names of volunteers and the flags of Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and Poland will soon add to the story of the “Happy Pebbles”. We hope this story will have many sequels brought by new activities and projects at Colentum.
