Erasmus+ is one of the European Commission's programmes, and one of the activities within Erasmus+ is the European Voluntary Service (EVS), which makes it possible to take part in an international project in one of the countries of the European Union. An EVS project is an exceptional opportunity for young people to learn, travel and get to know different cultures and customs, to develop personally by acquiring the skills of tolerance, solidarity and understanding, and it encourages active citizenship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Argonauta, the association for the protection of nature and the environment and the promotion of sustainable development, takes part in short-term EVS projects, and so far within this programme Argonauta and its partners have carried out the projects \u201cBack to Ancient Europe I\u2013III\u201d and \u201cDry Stone Wall Extravaganza I\u2013III\u201d. Through these projects, many volunteers from many European countries have visited Murter over the years, and most of their activities took place at the Colentum archaeological site. In the pleasant working atmosphere of a team of young volunteers from different parts of Europe, the surroundings of the archaeological site were landscaped and parts of the dry-stone walls at Colentum were restored, the first viewpoint on Gradina was built, the dry-stone wall by the beach was restored, the area of the Roman villa and towards the tip of the peninsula was tidied and cleared of vegetation, part of the Roman villa was researched and conserved, etc. In addition, a website for the archaeological site was created and translated into several languages, and the first puppet show about Colentum was devised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These and similar projects help us achieve our vision and make our archaeological site even more attractive. That is why we hope to continue to be successful in preparing and implementing projects that will contribute to Colentum in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
