By learning about the past of a place, we more easily understand our present, better understand how to shape the future of that place, appreciate more what we have and increase its value. Because of its beauty, Dalmatia has since ancient times been a place where many wanted to live and settled, and every stone can bear witness to this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Education Centre's Archaeology Monday is inspired by the fascinating past of this area, and its main theme is Colentum, the town on the hill. The archaeological site of the Liburnian and Roman town, located on the Gradina peninsula in Murter, with remains on the hill and in the sea, has a mysterious and fascinating past. Although the site has only been partly researched, we know Colentum well enough to tell part of its story. And we most like telling this story to those for whom it is worth preserving the site \u2013 children. Given the remains from the Liburnian and Roman periods, the themes of the children's archaeology workshops are linked to this very period. So far, Argonauta's little archaeologists have learned about the mighty Roman Empire, the artistic styles of the ancient Romans, the art techniques of the ancient world, money and trade, and many more interesting topics are waiting their turn. Future research at the Colentum archaeological site will surely inspire us again, so we are sure we will never run out of ideas for our workshops!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
